End of Year Interview 2020 Branca93: ‘It was not easy to leave the Sensuals. They were my first family and took really good care of me’

At Bandit Gang, the end of the year means the end of year interviews. All members are put to the test one by one about the events of the past year that shaped them. Private as well as business. In these interviews in which no mince of words will be stated, no taboos exist, sometimes harsh words are used and where you get a nice insight into the soul life of the interviewee.

Babyjosus: First of all. I do not know you that well, so could you tell me something about yourself?

Branca93: I am just an ordinary Portuguese girl that likes video games and music. I am currently finishing my degree on Foreign Languages and Cultures and after that I’ll probably take a masters on something related to languages. I am a crazy cat lady and I love to see other people happy. I think I am not missing anything ahahah.

BJ: And how would this ordinary Portuguese girl reflect on the year 2020?

B: This was a year of challenge and change, that is for sure. Who knew that we would experience a pandemic in our lifetime? Also, I never thought that during lockdown I would become a streamer nor would I create so many friendships. So, I guess not everything was bad.

BJ: You recently joined Team Bandit Gang as a streamer for Gwent after you decided to leave Sensual Team, what was your reason to leave Sensual Team and join Team Bandit Gang?

B: It was not easy to leave the Sensuals. They were my first family and took really good care of me. But lately the team was not active, and I was really looking forward to start new projects. Of course, the leaving of Maurandi did not help. He was an important pillar for me.
I decided to join the Bandits because I really appreciate their attitudes, their goals and the fact they love their family unconditionally. And since I was friend of most of them, well…it just made sense =P

BJ: That’s sweet. For how long have you been streaming actually? And was there a moment in this year of streaming that you will not forget?

B: I have been streaming since the beginning of June so I am quite new in this world. One of the moments I will never forget is when I reached Pro Rank in Gwent. Everyone was cheering for me and I was so happy; for sure it was one of my favorite moments.

BJ: Aside of Gwent you also stream MTG and you are a partner for them too, what is it that you like about that game?

B: There are 3 things that I like about MTG: the artworks, the playability, and the competitive scene. No other card game has so many tournaments as this one and that is important to keep the community active. I have been playing MTG since the “Khans of Tarkir”(2014) block. Back then I would only play drafts and pre-releases but after a while I became more competitive and started playing other formats. Nowadays (and since the pandemic hit us), I decided to give MTG Arena a try and so far, I am enjoying it. Have you ever tried it?

BJ: I have never played MTG so I have no idea what the things are that you told me.

B: Ahahah :p Feel free to ask me anything about it. I’m not the best teacher but I know some stuff.

BJ: Is the draft mode from Gwent any different than the one from MTG?

B: Yes, in MTG you keep the cards you pick and you can chose between drafting with bots or players of the price of participating varies in that and they have a ranked system just for drafting.

BJ: A ranked system would be great for draft mode in Gwent too. Enough of MTG. Is there anything that you would like to do next year?

B: Next year I would like to buy a new computer so I can improve the quality of my streams and the types of games I can play. It is not an easy goal since I’m a student, but I’m confident that eventually I’ll reach it. Regarding my personal life I will probably apply to a masters and join the working world.

BJ: You mentioned applying for masters applying earlier as well. What masters are you considering?

B: Well I’m not sure yet =/ but probably something related with translation. Literary or technical translation.

BJ: And how would you explain that to a layman?

B:Basically translating novels or translating those coursebooks/technical books no one likes or actually reads them ^^

BJ: Oh, interesting to hear about. Do you have any new year’s resolutions?

B: Humm, I usually do not have any of those but since this year has been quite strange, I guess I could ask for: More time with my family; The pandemic to end; Upgrade my stream setup; Continuing to be happy.

BJ: Those are great. Anything you want to say to the reader in anticipation of 2021 before we finish the interview?

B: You can expect some wacky streams, new types of games and some written articles. Besides that, I’ll focus on more tournaments and improve my results in those. Hope to see you there 😉

BJ: Awesome, I look forward to all that!

*Branca93's Top 10 Cards of 2020

*Branca wished to include more cards but only 10 were allowed. And because of that tears were shed.

10. Whispess– She’s the coolest of the 3 sisters and I always liked her design.

9. Fauve – Who does not like a tutor with legs?

8. Iris von Everec – If she’s not my favorite character she is in the top 3 for sure. I just love her story and her artwork is just lovely.

7. Assire var Anahid – If I were a mage I would be her. She has a cat!!

6. Masquerade Ball – After all the ups and downs, the card remains powerful.

5. Crowmother – Aka “Bird Lady”. Love what she does and the artwork.

4. Oneiromancy – The best card in the game (in my opinion). It’s not in the 1st place because I don’t like the artwork that much.

3. Cahir Dyffryn – The best NG boy and also its premium is sweet.

2.Morkvarg: Heart of Terror – My favourite boy in Gwent. He’s powerful, a madman and…yeah that’s it.

1.Passiflora – Besides being powerful it’s just the happiest card in the game. For sure they are having a good time there.
