End of Year Interview 2020 EnerGiiX: ‘I am pushing myself to reach high goals’

At Bandit Gang, the end of the year means the end of year interviews. All members are put to the test one by one about the events of the past year that shaped them. Private as well as business. In these interviews in which no mince of words will be stated, no taboos exist, sometimes harsh words are used and where you get a nice insight into the soul life of the interviewee.

Babyjosus: Sup Energix. So far I have talked mostly with Content Creators and you are the very first BG Pro Player that joins me at the campfire. How would you reflect on the year 2020?

EnerGiiX: My first year of competitive Gwent, is the year that learned a lot and played a lot, really a lot of games even in the off season, I am pushing myself to reach high goals.

BJ: What would you say that you learned this year and what are these goals that you speak of?

E: This year I learned about all the competitive strategies and teching decks specifically to counter other decks. My goals for next season are aiming for high rankings and qualifying for official tournaments.

BJ: You joined Team Bandit Gang as a Pro Player this year, what was it like to compete in season 2 of Gwent Masters under the BG banner?

E: It felt good to prep together with teammates and find my way into the competitive side of Gwent, grown a lot as a player and I think season 3 I will be better prepared for qualifiers and high level Gwent.

BJ: Yeah, you now got experience under your belt. And I don’t want to admit this, but how does it feel to be the best Gwent player of the Netherlands?

E: I never really thought about it, but I guess I am, sadly there aren’t a lot of Dutch players. But it definitely feels good to be the best from your country.

BJ: Yeah, there was a time when I could say the same. I know you like to talk about music, what music that you listened this year would you recommend to the reader?

E: One artist I would recommend is Danny Vera, a Dutch singer. He is starting to get big here in the Netherlands, but isn’t known around the world, which I think should be cause he has amazing talent. His style is a mix between Roy Orbison, Chris Isaak and Elvis Presley.

BJ: He is pretty good indeed. Did you know that he got the first place in the Dutch top 2000?

E: Of course. I have been a fan for 8 years and have seen him in the smallest venues.

BJ: That’s awesome. Is going to concerts something that you would like to do next year?

E: Definitely. I hope next year we are all free again and not limited by Covid. So I can actually visit concerts again because that is something that I did a lot and go on vacation to some nice countries too.

BJ: Yeah, that’s how I picture dreamland right now. Do you have any new year’s resolutions?

E: Not really.

BJ: Anything you want to say to the reader in anticipation of 2021?

E: Gwent will be bigger and better next year! And of course keep an eye out on the BG pro’s, the new competitive season we will show what we got!
