End of Year Interview 2021 wickedsyam: ‘2021 has been a bittersweet one for me in the gaming aspect’

At Bandit Gang, the end of the year means the end of year interviews. All members are put to the test one by one about the events of the past year that shaped them. Private as well as business. In these interviews in which no mince of words will be stated, no taboos exist, sometimes harsh words are used and where you get a nice insight into the soul life of the interviewee.

Babyjosus: Welcome wickedsyam, you are the next in line after Zoz. How would you reflect on the year 2021?

wickedsyam: 2021 has been a bittersweet one for me in the gaming aspect. I am really unhappy with the direction my favorite game Gwent has taken this year leading me to take a break from it in the past few months. On the bright side, this led me into exploring Storybook brawl which I am thoroughly enjoying now.

BJ: Different roads lead to Rome they say. What has it been like to compete in Gwent this year?

W: I very much enjoyed the ladder in the start of the year. I believe I consistently finished top 200 in all the seasons I played. Sadly, due to my time constraints, I wasn’t able to push for a qualifier spot.

BJ: That’s unfortunate indeed. You also recently started playing Story Book Brawl, how are you enjoying that?

W: I am very much enjoying storybook brawl right now. The game is very refreshing and it’s my first auto-battler experience. The learning process was so much fun and it’s one of those games which is easier to learn but hard to master.

BJ: Good luck with competing in that! Is there anything (else) that you would like to do next year?

W: I would like to get back to Gwent and I am hoping some of the new patches and expansions fix the balance issues which has made the game a bit stale for me.

BJ: I hope so too. Do you have any new year’s resolutions?

W: Not really.

BJ: Anything you want to say to the reader in anticipation of 2022?

W: Get vaccinated and stay safe.

BJ: Cheers and happy holidays!

wickedsyam's Top 10 Cards of 2021

That’s a hard one, especially since I haven’t played since the last set of price of power. I would say Mamunna, Artaud, Lydia, Braathens, Simlas, Gerhart, Sigi, Cleaver, Harold the Cripple and Masquerade Ball.
