Deck Guide: Vysogota on STEROIDS!!!

briberyplayer deckguide #2

This article has been edited by Babyjosus and Weevil89

Intro

Hello wonderful people! Looking for a horrible deck that will make your opponent break their keyboard? Look no further! Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the most irritating Northern Realms deck of all time – Vysogota on STEROIDS!!!

''OMG OMG OMG! tell me more...''

Basics of the Deck

Well, first of all let’s explain why this is such an irritating deck to play against – the heart of the deck consists of two units: Vysogota of Corvo and Ciri: Dash. Ciri is there to ensure winning the first round in order to get that sweet round control. What do you do with round control once you got it? You pass (most of the time). Simple enough, right? After that yo-

''Hah! ''eNsUrE''?! winning round 1 is easier said than done mate, what if they kill Ciri? Also, Vysogota is so risky man... Unconvincing so far, Bribery.''

Don’t interrupt me please. Where was I…Oh yes! As I was saying, Ciri makes the job of winning round 1 much easier most of the time. If you go second and therefore don’t have the luxury of veiling Ciri with the stratagem, you can always use a leader charge to protect her. If the opponent plays a control heavy deck, you might even consider defending Ciri with Donimir of Troy, and this is where it gets interesting…

Renew – This deck runs Renew. Why? Well, Ciri is only good if she sticks, so you might need to play defender in round 1. Vysogota’s also only good if he sticks. If only we could play Defender in 2 different roun… Oh wait! This is where Renew comes in…

Consistency

I’ve got you covered, mate. There are a couple of tutors in this deck that will make it much easier for you to find what you need:

The Deck

John Natalis – This dude is good because he can get you the even better thing right below.

Amphibious Assault – No explanation needed.

Geralt: Quen – He can get you Ciri, Keldar, Berengar, or some bronze witcher. A must in this list.

Also, to put the icing on the cake, I added Yrden too just because I can.

Summary

On a shorter, more serious note:

The idea of making this deck came from a previous idea of making a strong deck with Ciri: Dash that isn’t Kelly. I thought she’d be very hard to remove with Shieldwall charges and to make it even harder I added defender and since I had defender, I obviously added Vysogota. The original deck contained Madoc instead of Renew and a few bombs here and there, but the current version just makes much more sense, since there are so many good renewable targets.

Pros:

  1. Easy to win round 1 with Ciri: Dash and most times you’ll win it on even (regardless of the coin). You have plenty of ways to protect Ciri and it’s also fairly easy to get her on the battlefield, as well.
  2. Unbeatable in a long round 3 against a control-lacking deck and still very much favored even against a control heavy deck (in a scenario where you play Donimir, Vysogota, and Keldar, your opponent might be able to deal with one or two things, but almost never with all of them. Unlike your average Vysogota deck, this one doesn’t suffer as much from him dying because your opponent will still need to deal with other threats.)
  3. Griffin Witcher Adept + Keldar + King Roegner combo is a monument of points

Cons:

  1. Awful matchups against Super-Duper-Mega Control lists (thankfully they aren’t too popular at the moment)
  2. Not having access to Ciri in round 1.
  3. NOT. HAVING. ACCESS. TO. CIRI. IN. ROUND. ONE!!!
  4. Ciri dying in round 1.
  5. Ciri being locked in round 1.
  6. Ciri being dealt with in any way, shape or form in round 1.
  7. I can’t stress myself enough to tell you just how important it is to protect Ciri in round 1. WHY? because:
  8. If your opponent wins round 1 and bleeds round 2, you’re fucked 😀

Final words

There you have it, boys! (and girls) I hope this deck will serve you well (unless you’re facing me) and just a friendly reminder – please consider upvoting if you like it. Bye!

Weekly Bandit Gang Content Update #6

Welcome to your weekly Bandit Gang content update.

Hello Strays of Spalla!

Thank you for opening up this article today. We had a tremendous week so far, including the The Bandit Hideaway Episode 5  with special guests Jason Slama and Pawel Burza was a huge success, the Battle of The Bandits 4 which was casted by Weevil89 and myself, a wonderful new signing to the team in Ithlinne Magi, the very first episode of our Beginner Series, and of course the Bandit of the Month of April.

But, before I go more in depth in a few of those subjects, I would like say that I am really proud of what we are doing with Bandit Gang as of late. We are truly shaping ourselves as one of the most established teams in Gwent. Of course, there is still much to be done, but we are getting there step for step. So I just want to say a quick thanks to the team and that I hope we can continue to have fun working together and doing all kinds of projects! Perhaps I will write more about this one day…

A warm welcome to the latest addition to the Admin Team!

Made by: NotKelseyArt

This week, Denpai and I decided to take on Ithlinne as our Community Manager because we felt there was a need for a dedicated person that would want to take care of our socials and communicate with you all in the Discord. And Ithlinne has previously shown interest in the team and has the experience, so it was match made in heaven. If you want to know a bit more about Ithlinne, you can read her very first interview with us here.

The very first episode of our Beginner Series!

This week we introduced our Beginner Series for Gwent, or BGinner Series as some of you would say. The idea of this series is to introduce new players to the game and where we will be going through several aspects that the game has to offer. This series of videos came from the mastermind of GhostArya, and with the help of TheOneChristo and Enzo it turned out to be a magnificent group project. They will continue to work hard behind the scenes to deliver you the beginner content that you have been hungering for!

Bandit of the Month April

Made by: NotKelseyArt

Without further ado, we are more than happy to announce that the Bandit Gang of the Month of April is GhostArya! As mentioned in the previous segment, Arya started the Beginner Series and has been taking the lead on this project for a while now to make sure all the info is gathered and people are putting the required work in it. So, you could say that she has shown to be a person you can rely on, which makes my job just so much easier. Here is a clip of me revealing the BOTM during the co-op we had on her stream a few days ago and her reaction is just priceless.

Weekly Bandit Gang Content Update #5

Welcome to your weekly Bandit Gang content update.

Hello Strays of Spalla!

I hope you are all doing well today. In today’s weekly Bandit Gang content update, I would like to dedicate a bit more towards our podcast ”The Bandit Hideaway”. Last week we had episode 4 with our General Manager KingDenpai, Team Aretuza’s General Manager Redrame, and Team Kreve’s General Manager Flohmega on the panel and they absolutely trolled the fuck out of Zubedoo. It was a fun one for sure. If you missed it, you can watch it back here. Also, all the episodes should be available on Spotify real soon!

And with that being said, we have planned episode 5 for tomorrow. So instead of a two-week wait, it will be tomorrow at 19:00pm CEST! We have been in talks with Jason Slama & Pawel Burza regarding their participation in the podcast and they agreed to join us soon. The episode will be hosted by Zubedoo and co-hosted by myself and shall be live streamed here. We hope you are excited for this one, we surely are and have put in all the required preparations!

A brand new Decklist Showcase ft Babyjosus & Carrost

After some time, we finally were able to put our heads together and work on the second decklist showcase. With this one, we set a new standard for future editions. In the decklist showcase we presented my Wombo Combo deck. Carrost did the recording for this deck guide and was making his voice acting debut on our YouTube channel. The video has reached over 200 views already and has received a lot of good feedback! We are eager to continue working together on these and continuing the concept.

New beginner content has arrived!

We are hard at work behind the scenes on revamping our faction guides and producing new beginner content for both the website and YouTube. And Akaean, who currently is on a one-month trial as an Article Writer for Bandit Gang, has kicked it off with an article about the strategy of bleeding. It’s a guide that aims to open a discussion to clarify the different options players have available in round two. If you are new to Gwent then I would highly recommend reading about it here.

Weekly Bandit Gang Content Update #4

Welcome to your weekly Bandit Gang content update.

Hello Strays of Spalla!

We hope you have had a great week, because we sure did, topped by our amazing watch party in the Discord  to watch the first Gwent Open with the BG community. Moving forward, we will make sure to announce any similar events on our socials!

Another thing I would like to touch upon is all the letters we received regarding the interest in joining Bandit Gang for article writing and guest writing. I have talked to a variety of people and decided to take three Article Writers on a one-month trial and three additional Guest Writers to contribute in our writing endeavors. We look forward to seeing what they can bring to the table!

Thank you for 200 subscribers!

Thank you for supporting us by subscribing to our YouTube ! We reached 200 subscribers and we decided to make a video to mark the occasion. In the video, we go through the current successes of BG that led up to this milestone and how excited we are for the future of the team and the channel. We hope you enjoy!

So You Want To Play Sihil!

This Saturday at 4am CEST, Carrost will be unsheathing Sihil, testing out its balance and whetting it to reach its full potential. And knowing that the last two cards Carrost has been talking about are getting attention from CDPR with the next patch, do we foresee another Sihil meta? Oh no, I surely hope we don’t. I believe there are still people out there with PTSD from the last time! Anyways, let’s see what he will write about the card first. You can also read the other two articles he wrote here.

Interested to see the editing progress of the next Lore Blast video?

Enzo is once again planning to stream his editing process of the next Lore Blast episode on Twitch this Saturday starting at 4PM CEST. What this episode is going to be about? Who knows. Tune in here  to find out.

Weekly Bandit Gang Content Update #3

Welcome to your weekly Bandit Gang content update.

Hello Strays of Spalla!

Another splendid week we had last week, and another splendid week ahead of us. Last weekend we had the Season of the Bear Top 64 Qualifier and it was casted by one of our Content Creators and it was so cool to see that we had BG representation for the very first time on an official tournament cast!  I am speaking of TheOneChristo  who casted the final two games alongside his longtime friend WatchFlake. You can find the matches on his YouTube channel. This is just another example that not only we are growing as a team, but also that our members are getting more recognition in the community. We are immensely proud of him getting this opportunity and nailing it!

Listen to the Tunes of Gwents Elite, a soundtrack for Climbing and Grinding the ladder

Ever wondered what your favorite streamers listen to? Academy Manager and Article Writer Sawyer1888 , talked with over 60 people from the Gwent community about their favorite music to create this unique playlist: The Tunes of Gwents Elite. You can read more about it here , but make sure to give it a listen too!

The man put in a lot of time and effort into this specific project, he said so himself that over 50 hours were spend reaching out to all the people and talking to them. This is just another example of how we at Bandit Gang prefer quality over quantity.

Weekly Bandit Gang Content Update #2

Welcome to your weekly Bandit Gang content update.

Hello Strays of Spalla!

First of all, thanks to anyone out there that has been watching and showing support to our streamers play the game Trials of Fire live on Twitch, we hope you had a great time in this week of spotlight. Yesterday we concluded it and it was good to see that many of our content members worked closely together, by either hopping onto each other streams or just hanging out in the Twitch chat and helping out by giving tips & tricks.

Speaking of tips & tricks, Enzo has worked on a first impression and guide video for Trials of Fire regarding the Bandit Gang YouTube  which you can check out down below!

If  you want to see more of our videos then feel free to go our videos page on the website, we recently launched it . You can get directed towards it here.

A warm welcome to the latest addition to the Content Team!

Made by: NotKelseyArt

Carrost is the latest addition to the Content Team for Team Bandit Gang. During his 1 month trial we found out that he has quite the skill-set for when it comes to content creation. While he has been playing Gwent for over a year, he is relatively new to streaming on Twitch. His charisma and passion for memes is something that we liked about him. Not to forget to mention that he is a Voice Actor in his daily life and you can expect to hear his voice on a few projects that we have planned on the Bandit Gang YouTube channel. And at last, Carrost is a talented article writer as some of you might have already witnessed, so believe me when I say that you should keep your eyes peeled on this man.

Side Note: There will be an introduction interview released with Carrost this week on the Bandit Gang website.

A new series of columns called ''So You Want To Play!'' has been introduced

With Carrost getting out of his 1 month trial, he immediately put pen to paper and started a new series for the Bandit Gang website. Its a series of columns where he lifts a forgotten card out of the muck of disuse and attempt, just for one moment, to elevate it to something usable. In his first edition he wrote a column about the card Poor Fucking Infantry, also known as PFI. You can check it out here.

A video about the powerful spell Alzur's Double Cross and its creation

In case you missed it, our Lore Blast Episode 4  got published last weekend and has gained over 200 views already, not just from lore fanatics, but also from a lot of other members in the community. It has even received the Hugz Award and Snek Award on Reddit.

Lore Blast is a series of short videos covering various topics in the World of the Witcher through Gwent and the Witcher games. With the voice of Moriarty and the Master Editor Enzo to make it look pretty, this series has gotten a significant boost and more consistency.

We are thankful to anyone that has commented and shared our Lore Blast videos!

Bandit of the Month March

Made by: NotKelseyArt

It might not have come as a surprise to you, but of course we had to give the Bandit of the Month to Enzo who has brought life to our YouTube channel. Enzo is someone that has been constantly improve himself when it comes to content creation and video editing. If it wasn’t for Enzo, the Lore Blast series would not have continued. As Moriarty himself said that he wasn’t happy with his own video editing. Therefore, we want to congratulate Enzo with becoming the BOTM of March!
