This is ”Whats In My Deckbuilder?”, a series by Babyjosus where he asks Bandit Gang members and other people from the community to share their insights about what kind of decks they have in their deckbuilder. The decks in one’s deckbuilder often say a lot about the person. The player could be a deckbuilder at heart and enjoy running his/her own homebrews and even personalize their deck loadout by giving them names. But of course, you also have the person who looks at a meta snapshot, starts netdecking the best lists from it and might not even bother giving them unique names. Oh well, there is only one way to find out and that is by exposing them through this series!
TheaBeasty's Deck Picks
First of all, I sincerely apologize for the heartburn that is Kolgrim. To be fair, I didn’t create the monster. I only fed him. I don’t know why this is my most upvoted deck of all time, but I think it has something to do with the name. It makes me chuckle every time I see it in my deck builder, so it will likely stay there until it fails to amuse me (It’s going to be there for a long time).
This is my favorite deck of all time. I created it back when Vysogota of Corvo was still a viable card. The deck gained massive attraction overnight and soon dominated the meta. The triple “booms” refer to the three shields along with three dueling cards, namely Prince Anseis, Seltkirk and Viraxas King who resets one of the latter. This deck made it to the second page of Top decks in Gwent, and I’ll hold on to it until the day it is playable again!
This deck only had one rule. It must be played sneakily. The moment the meta catches sniff of a potential triple Kikimore Queen, it quickly adapts and intersects. This deck was so strong if left unchecked, that it was eventually nerfed to oblivion. I now have a different leader, because the old one was changed so that Caranthir could not be played twice. Double Kiki is still pretty strong, and keep it in hand until a sneaky moment to play it arises once more.
Remember when Syndicate Cache was a thing? The amount of fun I had with this deck was indescribable. I took it to my first Gwent Partner tournament and made it to the second day. When I think back to the good ol’ days, this deck pops to mind.
This was a fun deck. So fun, that the entire leader ability was reworked. I spent a lot of time calculating the best ways to counter mirror matches and the like. This slimy monster deck will always hold a special place in my heart.
Who Is TheaBeasty?
TheaBeasty is a streamer for Team Aretuza and part of the casting duo Beauty & Beasty. Before that she used to be a streamer for Team Rankstar and a co-host for the Merchants of Novigrad podcast.
While you might think of her as the Rapunzel of Gwent because of her pretty smile and long blond hair, I would advice to not underestimate her. While she favors the Northern Realms, she does have her Nilfgaardian ways and could poison your children in the blink of an eye. You can find her on Twitch here, on YouTube here and on Twitter here.
